Labour leader makes final changes ahead of expected general election
Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer has reshuffled his shadow cabinet, making a number of changes to his top team.
Angela Rayner, the deputy leader, has been given a new role as shadow chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, while Anneliese Dodds has been replaced as shadow chancellor by Rachel Reeves.
Other changes include David Lammy being promoted to shadow foreign secretary, and Yvette Cooper becoming shadow home secretary.
The reshuffle comes ahead of an expected general election in 2024, and is seen as an attempt by Starmer to strengthen his team and prepare for the challenge of taking on the Conservatives.
